AI-Powered Baby Cry Decoder
Introducing the new ‘Pro’ version
A next-generation mobile app that uses AI to decode a baby’s cries and help parents understand their little one’s needs. This evolved version launched as a corporate wellness service in March 2025, sparking interest from top-tier corporations, hospitals, and clinics across Japan.
Role: Art Director, Motion Designer, Product Designer
I gave this app a playful, welcoming touch that parents (and babies) can trust. Using Rive, I crafted delightful, interactive, development-ready animations. I also built a smooth, iOS native prototype with Play so that developers could easily preview the Rive animations in context, making collaboration seamless.

Go ahead, touch it

I contributed as a visual designer from the early stages of Awababy, an app designed to help identify the reasons behind a baby's cries. My involvement extended to crafting UI/UX designs independently using Figma. Beginning with conceptualizing the app's child-friendly ambiance, I initiated the process by sketching ideas, creating illustrations and characters, and developing mood boards. This comprehensive approach led to the establishment of a cohesive brand system, encompassing a thoughtfully curated color palette, font selection, and guidelines for images and UI assets. My role in shaping the visual identity of the app from inception underscores my commitment to creating a harmonious and user-friendly experience.

The images above showcase early sketches, mood boards, and initial concepts for the brand design. On the right side, you'll find an image that was strategically employed on the Instagram account as a pre-launch trailer for the app.
Moving below, the subsequent images represent the final outputs utilized on both the landing page and within the actual app interface. These visual elements encapsulate the essence of the brand design, serving as a cohesive and engaging representation for users.

App Promo Video
Awababy is an app designed to decode why babies cry through the sound of their cries. Taking charge of the project's design since its inception in 2022, I am now embarking on creating a new promotional video to coincide with this year's app update.
Though the project only commenced last week and remains a work in progress, I believe it will serve as an excellent showcase of my work process, hence my decision to prepare this presentation.
I am immensely enjoying working on this project and hope you will too.

Ideation
My journey with the Awababy project began when one of my Instagram drawings caught the attention of a team member. They asked me to create a teaser illustration for the Awababy app's social media channels. This led to my involvement in overseeing the app's product design. The app's theme revolves around the underwater world, with a whale mascot and bubbles as a significant thematic element. Despite challenges in implementing my illustration style within the app, I saw its potential for use in advertising videos.

The planner behind the Awababy project aimed to address loneliness and depression experienced by individuals starting their journey of childcare. Inspired by this cause, I aim to create advertisements that bring joy and healing to people's lives, even amidst adversity.
